On Conception of Lifelong
Education of Parents and
Teachers as well as the
general Construction of
Community.
In a conversation carried on
among the mates in a
primary school reunion party,
one person had begun
to describe how very
unfortunate for her son to be
taught by a teacher who was
addicted deeply to
Mahjong. She concluded
angrily that, “The
deteriorated election
produced many crook
delegates
who have long monopolized
prostitution, gambling,
and construction. Under the
evil official-
businessman connections, a
rascals-and-gold-digging
political state of affairs was
formed, polluting
eventually the entire society
with gambling, drugs,
alcoholism, and sexual vices.
As the devilish spell is
blown across the campus, the
younger generation will
be the victims who suffer
most.
I saw a wife of a primary
school principal in Nantou
Hsien revealed in tears, “I
regret to have encouraged
my husband to take the
examination and won the
office of principal. As a
result, he learnt how to
gamble with the students’
parents of some disputable
background. She lives in fear
from day to day. What
will happen if they report him
in newspapers? I’ll be
so ashamed of myself. By
golly, what are you supposed
to learn from the books
written by saints and wise
men in history. It is well
noted by educators, “The
aim of living is to promote
the living standard of the
human race; and the meaning
of life is to create the
posterity in the universe.”
We read also the mottos
by CHANG, CHAI, the literary
master of Sung Dynastic,
“To set up the conscience of
heaven and earth; to
give people a better
livelihood; to continue the
nearly discontinued
knowledge by virtuous men in
the past; and bring peace and
happiness to generations
yet to come.
Holding the principal’s
office by passing the
examination, further
consideration shall be given
as to why there are chaos and
disorders in today’s
society. When adults are lost
and wayward, what the
next generation will be?
Therefore, the essential
points of teachers’ life-long
education must be
emphasized upon the
promotion of a reconstructed
value concept and self
conscientiousness. As a
teacher, particularly a
navigator of educational
project, shall have the sense
of honor in mind and
bear the burden to cleanse the
ever-tarnished
world. Do not drift along the
stream for fame and
gains! One must set up a good
model out of oneself
for future generation . Never
let the four sins have
their way in and around the
teachers. This will most
certainly win the hearty
respect from the parents of
local community and they may
be rest-assured to send
their children to schools.
Being educators, we know just
too well, the gambling,
drugs, alcoholism, and sexual
vices hidden in the dark
corners of local community
are sinful traps. They
create countless family
problems. The money-hungry
adults are minting a great
many of downfall students.
The places of vices have
already wrecked many
youngsters who hold part-
time jobs inside. It is high
time for the authorities to
investigate deeply into
the relatives and close
friends of the crook delegates
and explore how they have
monopolized prostitution,
gambling, and constructions
in local communities and
ruined the social moral. Once
they made the dirty
kills, they would think of
themselves as somebodies
and demand privileges for
their children in school
affairs. Moreover, some even
have gone so far to
poison teachers and students
with gambling, drugs,
alcoholism, and sexual vices.
Eventually, the best
works awarded shall be edited
and compiled into
auxiliary teaching materials
for high and primary
school students. Likewise,
the college students
might prepare the same for
the high school students,
and so forth.
At least two or three days
weekly, the massive
supply of extracurricular
books and pictorials for
free reading hours in the
afternoon shall be carried
out for high and primary
school students, namely,
books of cause & effect by
Prof. Yun-Her, Ragged Doll
Stories, etc. (outstanding
literary selection
published by GUO-YU-ZU-PAO
AGENCY), Stories of Four
Social Bonds and Eight Virtues
for family tradition,
Small Tales but Big
Revelations, HAN-SHENG
BOOKS,
CHIH-MAU BOOKS(American
New Perekin, Silver Trophy
Awards), etc. Libraries shall
be kept open during
summer and winter vacations
for students’ ready use.
Never forget to keep a
smiling face and kind eyes to
look into the eyes of children
and students to
communicate effectively,
instead of meaningless
shouting and blaming, with
them as their parents and
teachers should be.
In short, teachers as a whole, shall, in one hand, be
united with parents to stop the evil from hurting the
students potentially, and
instruct, in the other hand,
the students to prepare the
pictorials on wall with
parents of local community.
Build up for yourself once
again immediately the
value concept of goodness and
correct living
attitude. Stay far away
definitely from the said sins
to establish a fine self-image model for the
youngsters. Only in the
manner, people will be
delivered from the nightmare
of living in deteriorated
environment,
notably of killing,
robbing, kidnapping and
murdering the ransomed
victims, so that our posterity
might live peacefully
and happily under true
blessings.
